In memory of a father who taught me the true meaning of patience, compassion, and standing up for what's right. His legacy lives on in every fight for equality and human dignity.

My father was a quiet man. He spoke only when his words truly mattered—never too many, never too few. Through his silence, he taught me the kind of patience and respect that runs deep.

I remember watching him work when I was just seven or eight. He was working on a farm that employed people with disabilities, teaching them woodworking at their own pace. I saw how he would wait—calmly, patiently—for each person, no matter how long it took. And I can still hear his voice in my head, telling me: “They know the same as you. Some of them just need a little more time.”

I used to wonder how he could move through that workshop, surrounded by the sounds of tools and people pulling at his shirt, yet he always remained calm, with a smile that seemed to embrace the entire room. His heart was as big as the world itself. He didn’t need words to show his respect for others—his actions spoke louder than anything. He believed in the dignity of every person, no matter their challenges.

I learned from him that true respect isn’t just in what we say—it’s in how we treat others, especially when it’s hardest. He taught me that every human being deserves patience, kindness, and understanding. The way he gave his time and care to others without a second thought showed me the power of compassion and the value of simply being present.

As I reflect on the world today, I’m thankful my father doesn’t have to see the divisions that are growing among us. He left me with a moral compass—one that points toward kindness, respect, and understanding. And as I continue my own journey, I’ll carry that lesson with me every day. You raised me as a humanKind.

You were my hero, Paps. You still are.

Love you forever. Rest in peace.
